TugBeam
Electrification, Automation & Intelligent Maintenance for Tugboats
About the Project
TugBeam is a collaborative feasibility study for the Solomon Bow Harbour Tug Automation project. Front Technologies acted as project lead, researching the relevant regulations and legislation while specifying the inspection technique for the proposed tugboat systems.
The project brings together four technology streams: clean-energy electrification, autonomous navigation and control, digital-twin systems, and advanced structural inspection. Its aim is to support safer, lower-emission, and more efficient port operations.
Key Features
Seven-month feasibility study for harbour tug automation
Electrification and renewable energy for zero-emission operations
Autonomous navigation, route planning, and vessel coordination
Digital twins for monitoring and predictive maintenance
